Dry pipe fire sprinkler systems are used in commercial spaces or buildings where the air temperature can potentially get cold enough to freeze the water in a wet pipe sprinkler system.  Typically, dry pipe fire protection systems (FPS) systems are found in unheated warehouses, parking garages, drive-through canopies, or refrigerated coolers.  By National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) regulations, dry pipe sprinkler systems may only be used when the temperature range goes below 40 degrees F.
